You may be able to contact the DVLA more quickly by calling their dedicated helplines, so call them on their driving licence contact number 0300 790 6801 to apply for a provisional licence or report your existing licence as being missing or stolen. Alternatively phone 0300 790 6802 to pay your vehicle tax or to register your vehicle so that you can use it on public roads in the UK.

Contact the DVLA on their vehicle enquiries phone number 0300 790 6802 to pay your car tax, by contrast you should also call this helpline to register your car as off the road by making a Statutory Off Road Notification (SORN) so that you don’t have to pay duty on your motor. Similarly if you need a replacement vehicle log book you can call the DVLA on this helpline to get a new record. You must also report to the DVLA if you are importing a vehicle into the country or exporting one to sell overseas so that you pay the appropriate fees.
